Rev. Dave CrumplerMrs. Teresa Powell |
Associate Pastor, [email protected]
David Crumpler came to Chadbourn Baptist Church in March, 2014. He's a pastor’s kid who's lived with his family all over North Carolina, as well as Baltimore, Maryland while growing up. After graduating in '77 from Whiteville Sr. High School (it was called that back then), he spent the next 5 years at Campbell University searching for what God wanted him to do. He graduated in '82, with a Religion Major & a Minor in Music. From there, he spent his next 3 years at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating with his Master of Divinity degree in 1985. In the summer of 1985, while youth ministering in Richmond, VA, he met Ruth Ellen Maxey, who just happened to be the church organist where he was working. A romance grew and the Lord allowed Dave to stay and work at nearby Tomahawk Baptist Church. They ordained him into the ministry in 1986. Dave and Ruth Ellen married that September. In 1992, the Lord blessed them with their son, Marshall. In 1993, the Lord let Dave come full circle by returning to Whiteville after a 22 year absence, where Dave became the Associate Pastor of Music at Trinity Baptist Church for the next 10 1/2/ years, and served the Columbus Baptist Association in Music/Worship for 8 years. Brought on board full-time in March 2015, Dave serves as our Associate Pastor; his primary responsibilities are the music and youth ministries of the church. Dave also partners with the rest of the church’s staff and lay leadership in all aspects of ministry through a collaborative calling of pointing people to participate in the life of Christ in our community and world. When Dave finds the time, he likes reading (checking out used bookstores is a fave), eating, keeping in touch with friends, LOVES the beach, and listening to music (oldies are a fave).
